Happy Friday or as we say in our house, Feliz Viernes!! My son Skyy loves a Friday, loves to get home, kick back, have a snack and ease into the weekend. Snack plates are huge at my house. He really knows how to live life. And for me, living life through an almost five year olds eyes is incredible. He and Alex talked about bull moose on the way to school and then I get a lesson on bull moose when I pick him up. They live deep in the forest y’all and if they get cold, don’t worry they have nice tufts of hair. They can fight wolves. And bears. I feel like a broken record when I say - I know I haven’t written the newsletter in a while but, I’m back. Record that. Today, I really mean it. I miss this. So heres to a 4 week streak. First class. LOTS of stuff has happened, I think the biggest of which is that I moved from one house to another house (torture and elation) and the other big thing is that I am now part of American Express’s Culinary Collective as their somm. It’s so cool! What does this mean? Well, I now pick all the wine at the Centurion Lounges at all the airports. More on that below. Other tidbits: I am really enjoying the time traveling videos that one of my best friends keeps sending me…is Baron Trump a time traveler? is life real? I know we can all feel that in our own ways right now. At the end of the day, there is the sheer elegance of food and wine waiting for us. The beauty of a perfect pasta; the stacks on stack of asparagus; the little joys. The perfect under $20 bottle. The killer rose’s that are rolling in. One of the things that has been taking some of my creativity and writing is the depths at which I am in my wine club. I love my club. I go to my club everyday. I love finding really cool wines for it that are super delicious and high quality, I am not saying all of this to sound sales-y, honestly sales are wonderful to have and I love them, but its turned into this whole other obsession. A club pleasing obsession. My wine club needs to lift weights and look great in her perfect vintage score. The wine club eats, all day. I want to figure out how to triangulate it with more of what I am doing everywhere else, should there be an in person component, or a zoom…do we zoom? A google meet up? Message in a bottle?? Last thing I am going to throw out here is life right now is about finding you, my people, the bread & butter pickles. The wines that have the energy you need and the price we all want.
